Coming Home Day!

Sunday morning (March 7th) we were a bit worried that our little glow worm would not be coming home with us. His Bili levels had spiked overnight and his color was looking worse than ever. Thankfully our pediatrician permitted our discharge with strict orders to keep Carter in his Bili light suit unless he was being fed. This got the ball rolling for us to check out and come home! It took a few more hours, but then we were on our way!

Sunday morning and we started our all day tanning session.

Hooked into his car seat for the first time!

All tucked in and ready to go home!

Riding in my chariot down to the car!

Can't forget to remove the baby lo-jack!

Carter and Daddy loading up!

Baby's First Car Ride

We made it!!
Thankfully we only live 5 minutes from the hospital!

While we were out my awesome parents spruced up the yard and sweet Grandma
Bella cooked us some delicious food to help us get through the first few days!

Meeting the pups...still don't trust Tessa yet!

Another surprise! Aunt Krissy finished
painting the canvases above C's dresser!

I love how these turned out! They are perfect!

The pups didn't know what to make of all the commotion!

Enough excitement for one day- back to the tanning bed!

We were able to rent a Bili bed that was delivered to our house shortly after arriving home. The rest of the day we spent watching Carter glow and resting. Thank you to my parents (Hattie and Poppy), grandma Bella, Aunt Krissy and Uncle Ryan, and Aunt Alex for making our transition home as smooth as possible. We really appreciate all your help- especially everything you did around the house to get it ready for us! It feels so good to be at home and settling in with our little boy. We couldn't have done it without all of your support!

Wow! You guys have so much wonderful support. Carter is a much-loved little guy! :) Hope you have a peaceful first week at home. That bili suit is very cool--looks like something from a sci fi film. When my 4 year old was born, he had to be in the light box for a day, with little eye patches on. That was a long 24 hours!

And his room is adorable!! My poor 9 month old...I better not let her see those pictures! ;)

Whoa, that light suit is cool! I didn't know they were like that. He has super powers now, right?

His room is so cool. I want to come over there and see him in his natural habitat--lemme know when he's having visitors!
