Carter's First Few Days

Here are some pictures of what was going on Friday (03/05) and Saturday (03/06) at the hospital. We are home now, but I have so many pictures to go through that I figured I should start at the beginning! Carter is doing great and we have completely fallen in love with him.

We spent Friday morning in the delivery room because there weren't any available rooms upstairs. Everyone napped on and off, we learned how to breast feed, and we spent time with our visitors! We finally made it to the recovery room and settled in. We had lots of guests and time passed in a bit of a blur. On Saturday, Carter got circumcised and we found out his Bilirubin levels were really high. After all that trauma, the poor guy had to spend the day in a "tanning" bed to help relieve his jaundice. It actually got worse as the day went on and we weren't allowed to hold him unless it was feeding time. That was pretty hard but I am happy to say he is much better!

This was my fortune the night Carter was born!

Still in shock that this little (big) baby was inside of me!

Meeting his Hattie
(mom- I'll replace this once I have a better pic!)

Aunt Krissy made him some adorable onesies!

Carter in his tanning bed!

Poor guy had to stay in this Billi bed all day long unless he was being fed.
He hated it and we hated not being able to love on him!

I showed Mark the picture of Carter all swaddled up, facing the camera straight on. "That's a pretty mature looking newborn," I told him. He agreed. His comment: "I have arrived to rule the world."
