Sunday Silence- Advent

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God,

"who was, and is, and is to come." Revelation 1:8

018Today is the second Sunday of Advent which is a period of time where we get ready for the second coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Many Christians celebrate Advent not only by thanking God for Christ's first coming to Earth as a baby, but also for his presence among us today through the Holy Spirit, and in preparation and anticipation of his final coming at the end of time.

I hope these next few weeks you are able to slow down and remember the real reason behind Christmas. How easy we all forget during the hustle and bustle of buying gifts, decorating our homes, and celebrating with friends that Christmas is truly a celebration of Jesus’ birth and the hope of His return to Earth. I pray that the busyness of the weeks ahead do not distract us from the incredible celebration that is Christmas and this Advent season we all find time to reflect and thank God for all of our many blessings! No matter how difficult the challenges we are facing at this time in our lives, I pray we can give thanks for the two candles we have lit that faithfully push back the darkness.
