Meeting “Santa”

Last year Carter loved Santa and happily sat on his lap for ten minutes stroking his beard. He was the real deal with a thick white beard and big jelly belly. This year was a whole ‘nother story!!!! Each year we participate in a fundraiser with Forsyth Mommies and get some one on one time with Old Saint Nick. I was so disappointed when we arrived and found out that our Santa from last year was not who we would be meeting and the guy they got to replace him was just some middle aged dude in a fake white beard. To make matters worse, as we were approaching this imposter Santa he took off his beard and scratched his face right in front of Carter. Seriously?? As soon as that happened C burst into hysterical tears and refused to go near him. I had to pry his little body off of me to pass him over to Santa. There was a “professional” photographer on hand to capture these moments but I was really unimpressed with her work. I hate to not support a good cause and help out my local chapter, but it looks like we’ll be making an appointment at Phipps for next year! On the bright side, we managed to calm Carter down enough that he wasn’t screaming in every picture and he looked super adorable in his smocked outfit!

Linc had to come straight from a tennis match and almost missed our turn!

Afterward we bribed C with a cookie to get a few more pictures in his cute outfit!

Cookie bribes are the best. Poor Carter - what a dumb "Santa". We are nervous about Eva meeting Santa. Last year was a cry fest.

His outfit is really adorable.

I'm so impressed that he calmed down enough to get these great pictures! Santa really doesn't look that bad... and it's a really pretty set up! I'd say it was a successful Santa visit! :)
