Dinner Date at L’Atelier

022-1

Saturday in Vegas we slept in until lunch time and then hung out by the pool enjoying a yummy meal! We walked around the strip a bit more, played a few hands of Black Jack and Craps and then went back to our room to get ready for a fancy evening out on the town before the concert! We won a bit of money in the casino and used that to go all out for dinner! We ate at L'ATELIER DE JOËL ROBUCHON and holy cow…I don’t even have words to describe how unbelievably amazing this food was. We polished off a delicious bottle of champagne and enjoyed course after course of the most incredible small tasting portions. The restaurant itself had an open view to the kitchen and it was so fun to watch them prepare all the food. The attention to detail and intricacy of simply decorating the plates blew us away! Other highlights included our waiter being super attentive and friendly, sitting next to some incredibly wealthy businessmen that were served food that glowed, and meeting with the sommelier and head chef! It was the most perfect night with an even more perfect date ;) Pictures below include the description from the menu in French! It was so fancy I just had to include it for posterity's sake!

A sun shower started off our day!

We started with a little something to cleanse our palette. I wish I could be more eloquent in describing it, but it was basically like grapefruit sorbet with pureed avocado and apples. Very weird combination but somehow it was delicious and even looked pretty! The bread and butter bowl was also a hit!

If I could live on one meal the rest of my life it might just have to be this. La Tomme de Brebis: Sheep's cheese from Belloc Abbey with black cherry marmalade. Talk about heavenly. Who ever knew sheep made such awesome cheese? And combined with the marmalade (orange squares) it was to die for.

My main dish came out as a surprise but again, it was divine! LA DAURADE: relevée de citron vert sur une pulpe de tomate acidulée à l'huile vierge. Snapper marinated with lime, tomato and virgin olive oil.

I wanted to lick the plate after Linc ordered this dish! LE VITELLO: tonato de veau et son cŒur de sucrine. Thin chilled slices of veal topped with tuna sauce and sweet gem lettuce.

This might be the only way to eat macaroni and cheese again! LE MACARONI: gratiné au Comté, asperges vertes et poitrine de veau fumée. Macaroni in a Comté gratin, green asparagus and smoked veal bacon.
