The Stockings Were Hung

Ok, so I am the third one in my family alone to use that same blog post title, but it just fits so well!! I finally found some energy to decorate for Christmas and spent the other afternoon taking all of the boxes out of our holiday closet and pulling everything out. We have had our tree for a few days now (from the same nursery as last year) and it has been sitting naked in the living room because I was waiting for Linc to put the lights on. Does anyone else see that as "the man's job?" My dad always did it and I just assumed my husband would too!

Well, while he did that, I went around the rest of the house adding garland, lights, and festive decorations to get ready for the holiday season. I still need to put the rest of the ornaments on the tree, but so far I am really happy with the progress! I have the light timers set to come on at 4:00 so when I get home from school I am greeted by a beautiful twinkling glow! Last year we did not have an angel but my mom was able to find one at an after Christmas sale so our former tree topper was turned into a side table flower arragement to make room for the beautiful angel!

I also redid my foyer display and finally plugged in a lamp that has been sitting bulbless for almost a year! The light it gives off is great and serves as a nice night light for when I am walking down the stairs at the crack of dawn. Before posting, I went back to last year's posts to see what I did differently this time around. Our tree is much bigger this year, I hung the stockings in a different order, and the fire place is a bit more sparkly but one thing remains the same-- I love Christmas and wish I could leave my house like this all the time!

Our stockings were hung by the chimney with care!

My faux mercury glass Nativity Scene
(I am hoping this year to add some snow!)

The little bit less naked tree and angel- if you look closely
there is one single ornament on the left side!

This is exactly how I did the garland and sign last
year so you can see it as you come in the front door!

Lookin' very festive! Remember, I have some unused decorations in storage if you need any more for your beautiful big tree. Shop there first!

Love all of the decorations! I love Christmas too and it's fun to get ideas to decorate. :)
