My second trimester is quickly coming to an end and I have heard it's all down hill after this! I am going to enjoy the increased energy as long as possible because there is so much to get done in the next few weeks! I have my first breastfeeding class on Saturday which I am very excited about and before you know it Christmas will be here!At Week 27, my uterus has swelled to the size of a basketball- hence the giant belly I am sporting these days! Beginning somewhere around this stage of pregnancy, nearly three-quarters of pregnant women start to experience mild swelling of the extremities, particularly of the feet and ankles. I am hoping I will be one of the lucky ones that does not have to deal with this problem! As for baby, we get to trade in the old crown-to-rump measurement for a new head-to-toe standard (that's 15 inches this week — more than a foot long!). His weight is creeping up the charts as well, coming in at just over two pounds. At this stage in development Baby H might even be able to recognize my voice! He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers.

So exciting! He's getting so big!
I'll have to give you a sewing lesson and we can have a "slave party" to make the baby's bedding. Soon!
