Le Tired

This has been one hectic week and it's not even over yet! It started on Monday with a fun outing with my small group. Every once and a while we take a break from our study to have a social event. Back in October all 11 of us went out to eat at Ippilitos and then in December we had a White Elephant Party where I won an awesome lip liner and gloss from my friend Jessica. Because we were in the middle of choosing a new book we decided to take Monday off and headed over to Discover Mills mall to paint pottery! It was so much fun and something I haven't done since I was a kid. Both of my sisters used to work at a pottery place growing up so it was an activity I was familiar with. I chose a square plate and painted our family monogram on it. I am anxious to see how it turns out once they glaze it. Hopefully it won't be as pastel as in the picture considering that blue has 5 coats on it!! We ordered in pizza and took a break to eat some birthday cake (my month long celebration continues!!) before carpooling back to our side of town and heading to bed.

Tuesday evening Lincoln and I had our first T2 match. This is our first time playing mixed doubles together competitively and T2 allows you to set up your own matches with other area "couples" and play whenever you all can agree on a time. It's great for working professionals because you don't have to commit to the same schedule every week. We showed up to our courts around 7:45 and the other couple arrived shortly after carrying their own 12 pack of beer! They wasted no time popping those suckers open and we started playing. The man was a little aggressive and ended up hitting me quite a number of times during the match. Thankfully he was apologetic but I hope that doesn't happen a lot! We took the first set 6-2 but then somehow they came back and beat us in the second set 7-5. The beer must have really kicked in then because we got them in a close third set 6-4. I think Linc and I played fairly well together and stand a decent chance this season. We'll see how it goes at the next match!

Wednesday I had another tennis match (are you noticing a trend?) that was pretty disappointing. I love my new partner but we just did not gel last night at all. This was our make up match that had gotten rained out on Sunday so maybe that threw us off. The other team was really good- extremely consistent and really got us moving around the court, never knowing where the ball was going to be next. I think we had great communication but they were just all around better players. We had two quick sets and they beat us 6-2, 6-3. I was not happy with our performance but you win some, you lose some and hopefully we can do better next time. My team always provides a great spread and the food we brought was delicious so I stayed to watch a few of the other matches while I ate dinner! We had lost one other match by the time I left and the other three matches were all headed to their third set! It was a tough night!

The rest of my week is jam packed too, mostly with tennis...
  • Thursday- tennis practice
  • Friday- Jon and Kate Plus Eight (minus Jon and the 8!)
  • Saturday- tennis match and March Madness birthday party
  • Sunday- tennis match
Since most of these activities last well past my regular bedtime it is no wonder I am so tired at school! Spring Break is only two more weeks away so maybe I will be able to catch up on sleep then! Hope everyone is enjoying our transition into Spring- I am definitely ready for this flip flop weather!

too bad about the lose, but at #1 you run into some pretty tough cookies. On to this week! Sunday's weather is looking good.
