What a great way to ring in a new year of life by celebrating four days in a row! My scale certainly did not appreciate it as I ignored all of my diet plans and really indulged myself but, oh well, minor set back! Friday was a great day at school celebrating Dr. Seuss day. We had a read-a-thon and many guest speakers come throughout the day. Add a video on top of that and we really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. I was able to get a lot of work done and left early to head home and rest up for our dinner. Linc and I met my parents at their club and Alex surprised us by coming home a day early! We ate a delicious meal of Calamari, Filet Mignon, and Parmesan Risotto with brownie a la mode for dessert! Mom and I split a bottle of champagne and it was a great night had by all!
Saturday we woke up extra early to take Tessa to the vet to have her staple removed. Then we drove over to my parents where Linc and Dad won their first round T2 playoff match! It was pretty close but they played great and we can't wait to see them kick butt next week too! I got to open my presents from the family which included a new beach themed rocker for our beach themed guest room, a new tennis outfit, and some beautiful jewelry! Afterward the boys went to clean up and the girls went out to eat at The Patio. We headed to the pet store to browse and then to a consignment shop where I found the perfect mirror for over my mantle for 50% off! Then we drove up near my house to hit up Home Goods and TJ Maxx. What great deals! I walked away with some new bedroom decor, two amazing flower prints to hang up, four sea shell prints for our guest bathroom, and some new clothes as well!
Sunday was a busy day because I had my first tennis match! It was a very sunny and warm day, perfect for spending time outside! My partner and I played very well together for it only being our first time and won both sets 6-2, 6-1. This was our Easter match that our captain arranged for us to play early and we took three out of the four matches. Our fifth match will be played sometime this week but what a great way to start off the season! I came home to find a huge cookie cake waiting for me on the counter and Linc in the backyard beginning to work on our huge landscaping project. We spent the day doing laundry, cleaning the house, and then relaxing on the couch. We ordered in a delicious dinner of sushi and watched some tv together before heading to bed. I had so much fun celebrating with friends and family but now it's back to the real world and my every day routine! Thank you to everyone who helped make this birthday so special and for all your well wishes, cards, and gifts! I really do appreciate it and am looking forward to seeing what my twenty fifth year has in store for me!
