34 Week Nesting Bug

Seems I am a few days behind on this post but I actually started typing it on Monday and then forgot about it! Oops! Here are some quick facts about baby Carter this week:
  • My sweet boy is about 16 to 18 inches long and weighs about 4 to 5 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe).
  • His arms and legs are continuing to fill out from fat accumulation. He's dimpling at his elbows and knees and forming creases around his wrists and neck.
  • He gets the hiccups at least once a day (usually around 3am...right after mommy goes potty!)
  • Speaking of potty, one of my emails says he now urinates about one pint per day.
  • He can recognize different songs which my help soothe him once he's out in the real world!
  • My midwife seems to think he has turned and if the pressure on my pelvis is any indication, then I think she is correct! If we can't tell by my next appointment I'll get to have an ultrasound just to check on him and see what he's up to!
And some facts about me:
  • BP was 104 over 50.
  • Gained two pounds since my last appointment
  • Felt the nesting urge pretty fiercely this weekend!
  • Hoping for at least four more weeks of feeling decent. That's not too much to ask, is it?
After Ashley's shower on Saturday I got hit petty hard with the nesting bug. It started with reorganizing Carter's closet (his wardrobe has now doubled in size since the last time I played around in there) that evening after coming home from my parent's house. Then, Sunday morning I decided I had to clean out the garage and install some shelves! This is a project I have been wanting to complete for the last two years but it absolutely had to get done right away!

Luckily my parents needed to get a treadmill from my house so after renting a truck from Home Depot, they set out this way to help us! Poor Linc didn't realize what I had roped him into but he was such a good sport! After trucking the treadmill down the stairs, dad and Linc set to work installing the metal shelves in the garage while my mom and I got organized. Then the two guys drove back to my parents house to unload the beastly workout equipment and left mom and I to finish up. I am SO happy to finally have this project completed. The garage looks great- thanks everyone for your help!!

While mom and I waited for Linc to return, we also installed Carter's car seat! I have been wanting to get that done so I could get used to driving around with it in the back. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but now the only problem is I can't have anyone ride in the front passenger seat! My little Jetta was not made for an infant carrier, but it will have to do for now! I also practiced getting the carrier in and out of the car and let's hope our little man doesn't mind being jostled around!

Other than that...tonight we begin our four week labor and delivery class-- oh boy!! Hope everyone is having a good week!

As a grandma-to-be I guess I've been "nesting" too. Painting my bedroom by myself is taking a few days, but trimming and rolling is not as bad as I thought. I'll be finished today, hooray!
Have fun tonight! You guys are getting so much more insight into babies than we ever had when I had you!
