Greetings from Absolute Bliss in Imerovigli, Santorini - where despite what the timestamp says, it is actually 2:00 and we're getting ready to have lunch. They are not kidding about that name, but before I tell you about how amazing Santorini is, let's get back to earlier in the week when we were still living it up in Crete!
Somehow on Saturday we slept in until 12:30 so all our plans to sight see in the morning were postponed! We got dressed and walked to neighboring hotel Elounda Mare for lunch. This is one of three hotels on the property and by far the coolest! We ate lunch right above their private cove and watched people sailing and swimming in the sea. After a tasty meal of fried squid and fresh watermelon for dessert we attempted to walk back to our hotel via the beach. No such luck as they built the hotels right on the water in some parts and we would have had to swim the remaining stretch! We took the winding road back to our hotel room and changed into bathing suits in preparation for an afternoon at the Six Senses Spa.
They welcomed us about an hour and a half before our treatments so we could enjoy the use of the facilities. They have a large indoor/outdoor salt water pool that we swam around in for a bit and took in the breathtaking view! An infinity ledge allowed you to see the entire harbor including the white sand beaches and clear blue water. After rinsing off in the "douche" I wrapped up in my comfy bathrobe and took a little nap in a lounge chair overlooking the sea. Linc and I managed to have our treatments in the same room- an 80 minute Holistic massage for him and a 75 minute Rejuvenation facial for me. I have never had a better facial in my entire life and was somehow only awake for one of the three masks she applied to my face! It was heaven and I never wanted it to stop. We had a little snack in the spa after our treatments and then showered and changed for dinner.
We decided to dress up a bit and indulge in our hotel's dinner buffet that evening. They had a delicious peppercorn steak that was our favorite as well as some traditional Greek dishes that we enjoyed. I also tried some duck and some interesting desserts. We once again took our time and really enjoyed the food, the view, and spending some quality quiet time together. That evening we sat out by our pool and listened to a live Greek band down by the water as they jammed out all night! It was so peaceful out under the moon without anyone else around us and we stayed up a bit later than planned listening to them serenade the other hotel guests. Everyday I am more impressed with Crete and am so thankful we had this opportunity to come here!
