The week of Thanksgiving Carter learned how to say “I Love You!” It absolutely melted my heart and was the sweetest thing I have ever heard. Of course I had to have him repeat it as much as possible and it never got old. He also gives the greatest little kisses and “big hugs” to anyone who asks.

Thanksgiving at the Farm
We went to the farm the weekend before Thanksgiving to celebrate with Linc’s side of the family. One of his brothers came and brought a few friends and his step sister and her family came for lunch on Sunday. We spent a lot of time playing outside and running around the fields. Carter loved exploring, pretending to drive the farm equipment, and spending time with his grandparents. Our nephew Ethan calls Bo O-B but Carter decided to call him Bo-Bo on this trip. Whatever works haha I had Bo and Bella pose for some pictures with Carter because I don’t have many of the three of them. It was kind of dreary weather and much warmer than we had expected but we always have a good time and enjoyed getting away for the weekend! The picture below isn’t of their farm house- it’s their store! Bo has a mill and sells lumber, tile, marble, antiques, and many other treasures. It’s always fun to look around.
Bo showed Carter how to throw the perfect rock!

Chickens
Take one little boy, a flock of chickens, acres of land to explore and what do you have? Hours of entertainment!! My in laws recently installed a chicken coop at their farm and this past Thanksgiving we spent the first part of the weekend visiting them. Carter was in heaven chasing chickens and spreading feed. He managed to master the clucking noise and wore himself out running around the lawn. The chickens didn’t want to get near him, despite the cupfuls of food he offered, but Carter still loved them. He is finally at the perfect age to enjoy going to the farm because he has the freedom to roam and explore. C was still scared of the cows, but I have a feeling he’ll warm up to them someday!
Baby C- Chicken Wrangler
We didn’t let C go inside the chicken coop just in case the rooster decided to freak out!

More farm fun and Thanksgiving posts to come! Hope everyone is having a great week ;)

Sleepy boy out to lunch! I would have sworn he would wake up but I managed to eat
my entire meal before C popped his little head up. Poor boy really wanted a nap!!

Sawnee Mountain Preserve
A few weeks ago Krissy and I met up at the Sawnee Mountain Preserve to spend the day enjoying the crisp fall weather. We were looking forward to seeing the animals and spending some time in the toddler library but we didn’t realize it would be closed for Veteran’s Day! We still got a chance to pet some “foo-foos” (bunnies), play in the sand box, and hike through the woods. There is an awesome tree house in the forest and was worth lugging Carter to. We played chase and even collected some pretty leaves. Carter and Nicholas had a great time and we can’t wait to go back!
Brr! It was so cold out! Love those little rosy cheeks ;)

MNO- Splatters
Our mommy group likes to get out every once and a while without the babies and have conversations that don’t have to do with poop or tantrums. This past week a few of us met up at a pottery painting studio and got our “craft” on. It was so therapeutic to just paint, talk, and relax! After closing down the store we headed out for some Mexican food. Even though conversations focused on our tiny ones at home, it was still nice to get out! I love my mommy friends and I love being able to spend time getting to know them better. It’s gotten harder and harder to talk during play group because the babies are all over the place so these nights are much appreciated! Carter had a great slumber party at Hattie and Poppy’s house and I am so thankful that they live nearby and are willing to watch their wild grand boy so I can have a night off. We have a few more nights out planned throughout the holidays and I can’t wait!
Next week we’ll get to go pick up our finished pottery! I am looking forward to seeing how my candle holders turn out since the paint colors in these pictures are very deceiving. They should fire and glaze to be navy, red, and gold to match my downstairs living room. Fingers crossed they turn out ok!!!

Twin Time
We don’t get to see the twins {Maddie & Harison} very often because mom Devinn works full time. Thankfully our weekends finally opened up and we were able to coordinate a play date! We hadn’t hung out with the in weeks (months??) so I was so excited to get together. These babies play so well together and we spent a few hours enjoying the fresh air in their awesome backyard. We even got to watch some hot air balloons fly past the house! We can’t wait to get together again soon!
Thankfully Maddie is rough and tumbly and used to
having a brother because Carter loved to wrestle her!
