Last year on this day I taught a full day of second grade, cleaned my classroom and finished making lesson plans through the rest of the year, went to a fundraiser at Chick-fil-a, drove home and took a nap, and then ate a nice lasagna dinner with my mom and Alex while watching The Office. It was the episode where Jim and Pam have their baby and just a few hours later my water broke! It was the night before my birthday. The night before our lives changed forever. The night before we went from being just a couple to being parents to having a family! What an amazing journey this past year has been!
These pictures have nothing to do with the post above, but I thought they were cute and wanted to include them so I would remember the event. We went over to the Harvey’s house for dinner last Saturday so Carter could play with his older girlfriend Grace. He got to try spaghetti for the first time and had a blast cooking in her new little kitchen. We don’t get to see these guys often enough (even though they live in our neighborhood) so we always love hanging out and catching up!

I have tears in my eyes thinking about last year, that night. I knew something was up when we left your house, so getting your phone call at midnight was not a total surprise. Alex and I thought about it and decided we had to go to the hospital right away so not to miss anything. We were with you all night, keeping an eye on you. Carter's birth that morning was amazing. You were amazing doing it all naturally.
It's a year later and that sweet boy has filled all our lives with so much joy.
Happy Birthday Kelly and Carter, I love you both!!!
Hope Carter has a wonderful birthday tomorrow and you as well! Looking forward to seeing photos of his party. Still can't believe our boys are one!
