Every Spring I do some major sprucing in the front yard and this time my little garden gnome came out to help! I love cleaning out the planting beds and adding in new pops of color and mulch. My favorite part of all the gardening is to see the plants take off and bloom. Just the other morning our day lilies pushed through and I can’t wait to see their beautiful flowers! The nandina is turning a gorgeous shade of red, the dusty miller is sprouting new leaves, and I have three loropetalum bushes waiting to be planted. I am relandscaping down by the street but it is a project that is going to take a bit so for now they are hanging out on the front walkway waiting for their turn to be put in the ground.

When we came home from Madeleine’s birthday party I was inspired to try out the mod podge frames that her momma Kasey had made us as party favors. My friend Kerri and I went to Home Depot and picked up a tile for 54 cents. As we were walking out I noticed that the hard wood floor samples were free and stocked up on a bunch in various sizes! I already had a ton of scrapbook paper, stickers, and ribbon so we set off to my house to get to work! My friend Shari joined us after nap time and we got our craft on! I actually don’t have any pictures of what we made on that first day, but I made a few more mod podged pictures by myself later on. What an easy, fun project and perfect for gifts!

The One Year Olds Club that is! We celebrated his sock monkey themed first birthday this past Sunday at the Bignon's new house. Carter and I got dressed up and joined the rest of the Baby Brigade for a beautiful afternoon celebrating birthday #9. We had so much fun playing in their new backyard, trying out all of Nicholas’ toys and chowing down on delicious cake! Krissy had a professional photographer there and I can’t wait to see the shots he got! The entire group posed for a picture and it was a great preview of what’s to come for our photo shoot in April. Happy Birthday Nicholas!
Baby Madeleine turned one on March 17th and we celebrated her Saint Patrick’s Themed birthday with all but one of the Baby Brigaders! It was a beautiful day for a celebration, the food was absolutely delicious, and Miss Kasey wins the award for cutest party favor ever. She made each momma an adorable modge podge frame with their baby’s picture on it! I love the one she made for C and it is already displayed on our mantel! Birthday season is well under way and we still have five more parties to look forward to and a trip to the beach!

EDITED TO ADD: Apparently Carter knows how to dial 911 so not long after this video was taken we had to get rid of the cell phone! My husband had a lovely conversation with the emergency dispatcher after hearing a voice coming out of the speakers. She kindly explained that even though the phone was no longer on a service provider and the sim card had been removed it could still be used in an emergency. Oh well, he had fun for a while ;)I got a new phone recently and made sure to save my old one for Carter! He is so smart that he knows the difference between the real phone and the fake one he got for Christmas so I knew he’d get a kick out of having it for himself. It can’t dial out but still lights up and he can type on the keypad. Apparently I talk on the phone a lot in front of him because he knows exactly what to do!

We took Carter to the pediatrician for his one year check up last week and all went well! He hammed it up for all the ladies in the office and flirted his way all through the appointment! Our wait time was a bit long but once we were back in the room everything went quick. He had to get three shots (MMR, chicken pox, and Hep A), got weighed, measured, poked and prodded. Thankfully our little man is growing right on track and still topping the charts in the 90+ percentiles! His one year stats:
weight- 26 pounds 6 ounces height- 31.25 inches tall head- 19.5 inches

The Sunday after Carter’s birthday party we threw a baby shower for my sister Kristin and her baby to be Nathan! My mother did an amazing job putting together every last detail and even though I did not help out as much as I had hoped to, the party was great and everyone had a blast. Kristin looked beautiful with her little belly and guests were treated to a delicious meal! My other sister Alex made some amazing cake balls and everyone went home with some wine charms that my mom put together. Baby Nathan got tons of books, blankets, toys, and essentials and was definitely showered with love!
