Even though I would have preferred to spend all day outside in the snow, Carter had other ideas! After taking the thirty minutes to dress him in appropriate clothing he’d only last about 10 minutes before it was crank central!! Oh well, maybe he’ll come around when he’s older. Right now he prefers to crawl around his room and play with his toys. That works for me too since it gives me lots of time to practice taking indoor shots. We opened the blinds in his room so I had lots of natural light to work with. After a while he got a little sick of me following him around with the camera and you can see from the third set of pictures that he was totally over it! The other reason I am practicing so much is so I can spend less time editing. Besides changing the color in the third collage these pictures are completely untouched. Comments, critiques, suggestions??

faster shutter speed so not as much light gets in?
I'm certainly no expert! I need the dummies book for my Nikon.
Natural light is KEY to indoor photography!! Its so hard too, because if you have too much, or its coming from the wrong direction it overexposes.
Love the first shot. If you can get him to look directly into the lens, it captures the eyes beautifully. Easier said than done. This happens for me about once in every 300 shots these days. Owen is totally over being photographed. I have to make a complete ass out of myself to get him to look up from what he is doing.
Great job Mama!
He is gorgeous as usual.
This is common with winter light--it can look cold. In your photo editing program, just upping the temperature a little bit can make his skin tone look like it really looks to your eye. Just my $.02.
