Celebrating Our Anniversary

On Wednesday Linc and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary. If you weren't with us last year hopefully you got a chance to go back and take a peek at the Wedding Wednesday countdown I created to help remember the special day. I wasn't a blogger when we first got married so I thought it would be nice to look back on how we've celebrated in the past...

Every year has brought a very different anniversary celebration, each one very special in its own way. Our first anniversary was in 2007 and we were living in California. We began the day at Spa Los Gatos with massages and facials and then had a lovely picnic with chocolate covered strawberries. After a long nap, we went to our favorite restaurant, Forbes Mill, and had a delicious dinner with champagne, calamari, filet mignon and creamed spinach, and a delicious chocolate lava cake! We finished the night with a long walk and fetch with baby Westin who was our first anniversary present to each other!

Our second anniversary was spent in Kiawah at the same hotel where we began our honeymoon two years before. We went to the spa (what can I say, we enjoy relaxing!!) and then enjoyed an incredibly romantic dinner in the Ocean Room. They decorated our table with roses and matching pink champagne and we ate like royalty! I don't think I have ever had a fancier meal which included items like Potage Crècy (Chilled Carrot Soup) and A Tasting of Magret Duck (Slow Roasted Breast, Braised Leg, Liquid Foie Gras, Blood Orange, Beet, Radish). Linc also surprised me with a diamond tennis bracelet that still blows me away every time I wear it!

Linc is all about surprises and year three brought the biggest surprise of all- a two week getaway in Greece!! It was also extra special because we had just found out we were pregnant two days before leaving!! Our fourth anniversary was a bit different because instead of just celebrating with the two of us, we got to share the day with baby Carter! Our day started with a surprise Chickfila breakfast to jump start the morning and then we relaxed around the house while Linc got some work done. We had some delicious sushi for lunch and then ran some errands, including picking up my anniversary present. Baby C had a bit of a melt down in the afternoon while we were getting ready to go out to eat but after a cat nap and his own dinner we headed out to a local Mexican restaurant. The food was really yummy and it was nice to just sit and catch up with each other! Here are a few more pictures from our evening. I just love these boys SO much!!
