When Life Hands You a Lemon

At week 14, Baby Hami is now the size of a lemon! According to BabyCenter, baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body.

He is definitely making his little existence known, as my belly continues to grow rounder with each passing day! I don't mind showing one bit, and can't wait to wear more obvious maternity clothes. By some miracle I woke up on Monday and was not nauseous for the first time since coming home from Greece. I am still having a bit of trouble with brushing and flossing my teeth, but SO thankful that the all day queasy feeling seems to be gone. Still waiting for my energy level to increase, but I have been able to go walking a lot more now and keep up with my tennis game. I don't think after school naps are such a bad thing anyway!

My next appointment is September 28th, but we'll only go for some testing and measuring. We won't get to see Baby Hami again until October, when we find out if he is truly a he!! So far all the websites that do gender prediction are split about 50/50. I thought it would be overwhelmingly one direction, so they're not very helpful! I am not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I have felt boy from the moment we found out about being pregnant. As soon as we confirmed it, I have thought boy ever since! I guess we will see how accurate my mother's instinct is in a few weeks. Whatever the gender, I just pray that Baby Hami continues to grow nice and strong and I am able to stay healthy with all the new fall germs arriving daily at school!

So glad you're over the first trimester queasiness. This 2nd trimester is the easiest, so enjoy!
See you tomorrow night, it will be fun!

The second trimester is the best! Actually, I didn't mind the third that much either.

I new Royal was a boy when I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks, so your motherly instinct is probably right. When I found out you were expecting, I felt BOY as well! I hope so, so Royal can have a playmate to come and visit! : )

Oh, and the second trimester is by far the best! The third isn't bad until the last 4 weeks mainly because you get so uncomfortable...and the anticipation I found was the worst part. I just wanted to see his little face and I had no more patience by week 40.

The Chinese gender chart told us it was boy from the VERY beginning and it was right with us! I thought boy from the beginning with Lofton too--I was just too afraid to voice it to anyone since our family has girls coming out our ears :) I'm glad you are feeling better now--the 2nd trimester is the BEST!

Glad you're getting over the hump with the morning sickness. I'm looking forward to hearing whether your instincts are on the money!
