Put the Lime in the Coconut

At twelve weeks Baby Hami is now about the size of a lime! According to BabyCenter- the most dramatic development this week is his new reflexes. His fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Later this week (Thursday) we will go for another ultrasound and some health testing to make sure Baby Hami is growing nice and strong. I am so excited to compare the pictures from our first ultrasound, in which he looks like a tiny little blob, to the ones this week! He will definitely look a lot more human this time around and we might even be able to see his sweet face. In the meantime, I am anxiously awaiting the end of this first trimester because hopefully it means the end of morning sickness (or in my case, all day sickness!)!

In other news, two very exciting things happened this weekend in terms of our nursery. Our incredibly loving, supportive, and generous parents purchased some furniture for the newest addition! My in laws bought us a crib, and my parents purchased his beautiful dresser! With these two pieces, the room is nearly complete! I already had a comfy rocker that my mom gave me for my birthday this past year. It was meant for our guest room, but with the addition of some arm pads it will be perfect for Baby! We also had a gorgeous white baker's rake that used to be in my parent's kitchen that we will use for storage and display! The only thing left is decorations and bedding!

It's exciting to have all of this taken care of and now we can just wait patiently for it all to be delivered in October! I will most likely wait until then to do any more decorating, because hopefully towards the end of that month we will know if Hami is a boy or a girl. Linc and I knew, regardless of the sex, which kind of furniture we wanted and the basic theme we would go with, but I think we will wait to decide on the final color palette until we know for sure! It's such an exciting time and we have so much to look forward to! Don't forget to check back later this week to see new pics!
