I received a few emails and comments about the cake at our wedding and since it was so gorgeous (and delicious) I thought it should get it's own post! Here are a few more pictures of our beach themed creation to go along with the Weddings Wednesday post!
The cake (and designer Stacey Butler) arriving before the wedding! Seeing Stacy's creation for the first time! She sprinkled the table with brown sugar to make it look like sand!
The cake was three layers, alternating between a
vanilla butter cake with butter cream icing
and chocolate cake filled with strawberries and chocolate ganache! There were white chocolate sea shells painted with edible gold dust. Cutting into the cake for the first time. Hanna was very excited! I think one of the best parts about a wedding is picking out all the food! The cake was no exception and it tasted just as good as it looked. Lady Fingers even mailed us a fresh cake on our one year anniversary so we didn't have to deal with year old freezer burn!
